In order to save files directly to Google Drive, you will need to be logged in on your computer.

The first time you access the google drive application, it will prompt you to log in with your maritime credentials, opening a web page to complete the log in process. Once you are logged in, the computer should remember that and log in whenever you log in to your machine.

If you find that you are unable to access your google drive folder on your computer, then try the following steps.

On a Windows machine:

1. Click the start menu (Bottom left corner of your screen, should look like four squares stacked one on the other)

white box around windows start menu icon

2. Type "google drive" (just start typing once you have clicked and the menu has popped up- it will automatically search your computer for the Google Drive program)

Type "google drive" in the start menu

3. Google drive should show up at the top of the search window; click it once to open the google drive desktop application.

3a. It might ask you to sign in; if it does, then sign in using your maritime credentials as normal.

4. Once you are signed in, try navigating to your google drive folder from your file explorer as you would normally.
