Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be enabled on your My Maritime account. MFA is an easy way to protect login credentials and, more importantly, the data within our systems. After entering your My Maritime username and password to access a Mass Maritime system, you will be prompted for an additional piece of information. This can be a code texted to your cell phone, it can be a call to your office phone or your cell phone, where you would press the "#" key to verify, or it can be the use of an authenticator app on your mobile device or computer. You choose which method you want to use for this second layer of security to verify your identity. Once you have used the second method of verification to login to one system, you will not need to enter your My Maritime credentials again to access another Mass Maritime system within the same browser for 24 hours.
Click the "Next" button, you will see the Additional security verification screen.
On this screen, you can choose the verification type in Step 1: How should we contact you? The easiest way is to choose Authentication phone in the pull down menu, enter your mobile phone number and choose "Send me a code by text message" in the Method box. Click the "Next" button and you will see the following screen.
Enter the six digit code that was sent to you and click the "Verify" button. You will see the following screen saying "Verification successful".
You are now set up for MFA.
