Dear Faculty and Staff,
As the holiday season approaches, it's a time of joy and celebration—but it’s also a time when cybercriminals ramp up their efforts to exploit vulnerabilities. With increased online activity, both personally and professionally, it’s crucial to stay vigilant and protect our company’s data and systems from potential cybersecurity threats.
Beware of Phishing Emails: Look out for emails with suspicious links, unexpected attachments, or messages urging immediate action. Always verify the sender’s email address before responding or clicking.
Stay Alert to Social Engineering Hacks: Cybercriminals may use phone calls, text messages, or even in-person tactics to manipulate you into sharing sensitive information. Always verify the identity of anyone requesting sensitive data, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or confirm their legitimacy through official channels.
If you encounter anything suspicious—whether it’s an email, a file, or unusual activity—please report it immediately to the IT service desk.
Let’s work together to ensure a safe and secure holiday season for everyone. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
